Meet the Team
The South African Monitoring and Evaluation Association (SAMEA) is driven by a dedicated team of professionals committed to advancing the practice of monitoring and evaluation in South Africa and beyond. Our board members bring diverse expertise from various sectors, working together to promote equitable, sustainable development through M&E. Supporting the board is the SAMEA Secretariat, who ensures the smooth running of operations and the successful delivery of our initiatives.
Board Members
The SAMEA Board operates as an all-volunteer working board. Every board member is accountable for and actively engaged in shaping SAMEA’s strategic direction and overseeing its operations, in alignment with the principles, practices, and outcomes outlined by the current King Committee.
Jennifer Norins
It is a great honour to be serving South Africa’s M&E community and contributing to the advancement of knowledge and practice in this sector, particularly how M&E practice and evidence can promote equitable and regenerative development.
Mutsa Chinyamakobvu
Within the realm of development and organisational governance, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) acts as a compass; informing stakeholders about where they currently stand in relation to their objectives and where they are headed. It is a privilege to serve in an organisation at the helm of this important work in our region.
Mishkah Teladia
I believe very strongly that the evaluation profession requires committed volunteers who are willing to roll up their sleeves and do the hard work, if it is to continue to grow from strength to strength. So, the major contribution I intend to bring to SAMEA is being fully committed to its goals and objectives and working hard and smart to see these to fruition.
Anniza De Wet
It is a privilege to serve alongside a team of passionate professionals and experts, promoting monitoring and evaluation as an important discipline for equitable and sustainable development in South Africa.
Zulaikha Brey
SAMEA is a platform to drive discourse between the demand and supply side of M&E, advocating for the adoption of M&E in all development focused efforts (across government, donors, the private sector and NPOs), and to drive the professionalisation and growth of M&E. As a board member, I am committed to helping SAMEA continue these efforts, while also expanding the focus to newer and more niche areas which can help grow and transform the sector.
Nana Davies
I am committed to strengthening the capacities of our M&E communities and in particular our Emerging Evaluators.
Khumo Pule
M&E signifies more than just a process; they represent a powerful tool for driving African progress. I am deeply committed to empowering this progress by strengthening evaluation systems and enabling informed decisions across the continent. I firmly believe that the use of credible M&E evidence is not only essential but also transformative, positioning Africa for success. Through my participation as a SAMEA Board member, I strive to harness the potential of monitoring and evaluation to drive positive change and contribute to a brighter future for Africa.
Sinenhlanhla Tsekiso
I am driven by the notion that evaluations have a huge potential to identify policy issues and practical solutions to improve development outcomes. As a board member, I look forward to contributing to the M&E for Just Transition.
Sifiso Ndaba
Sifiso Brian Ndaba is a Director: Strategic Planning at the Gauteng Department of Economic Development. With a solid background in strategic planning, governance, monitoring and evaluation and economic development, he is well-positioned to contribute meaningfully to the goals and objectives of SAMEA.
Mosa Mokuena
Mosa Mokuena’s speciality is in strategy development, monitoring, evaluation, research, project coordination, management and design. She has a proven success rate in institutionalising monitoring, evaluation and learning, Frameworks & Systems. She is currently a Senior Manager at the Gauteng Growth & Development Agency.
Caitlin Blaser-Mapitsa
Caitlin Blaser Mapitsa is an experienced evaluator in the fields of governance systems, equity and evaluation, aiming to strengthen the M&E sector through methodological innovation, excellence in practice, and shared learning; technical expert in human geography, land management, and climate adaptation. Caitlin is currently a Research Director and Associate Professor, Monitoring and Evaluation at the University of the Witwatersrand, School of Governance.
Seirah Ngcobo
Seirah Ngcobo brings a wealth of experience in monitoring and evaluation, research techniques, problem diagnosis, systematic reviews and evidence searching, evidence synthesis and evidence-based policy making. Seirah is a Deputy Director at the Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation and she aims to bring to SAMEA, both monitoring and evaluation experience and will endeavour to contribute to SAMEA’s role in facilitating the professional needs and interests of its members by providing needed support for continuing professional development.
Futhi Mazibuko
Futhi Mazibuko is an experienced public sector professional with expertise in monitoring and evaluation, strategic planning, and project management.She has a proven track record in implementing government-wide monitoring and evaluation systems, coordinating multi-stakeholder initiatives, and driving evidence-based decision-making. Currently, Futhi is the Director: Monitoring and Evaluation Programmes at the KZN Office of the Premier.
